I am riding in honor of my mom, my HERO, and her Battle against Ovarian Cancer. In October 2010, my family’s world was devastated when my mom, Jeri Krone, was diagnosed with advanced stage Ovarian Cancer. She is my hero and has taught me the true meaning of being a FIGHTER and SURVIVOR. With my loving father by her side every step of the way, she continues the battle of endless surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy and treatments to beat this horrific disease. Through it all my mom remains selfless and continues to put her family before herself, worrying more about us than herself and her battle with this monster of a disease. I am so thankful for Dr. Braver, Dr. Martinez and the brilliant Dr. Fernando Recio for keeping her fighting the war against this silent disease . I am beyond blessed to have my mother’s love, support and guidance as she continues to put a smile on her beautiful face and overcome the obstacles each day brings. She motivates me to continue to challenge myself to be the best that I can be. I am riding for my amazing mom, in memory of Mary Weingartner and for all of those who have lost a mother, sister, or friend to this disease, and for those who are currently battling. These women are our mothers, daughters, sisters and friends and they deserve better. We all deserve better.
On April 30, 2017, I will be participating in Wheel to Survive, an inspirational four hour indoor cycling event to raise money to help women batting ovarian cancer today and to provide research dollars for a cure. 100% of the money I raise will go to fund these programs.
